2 Timothy 2:15
† Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
If you are interested in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.), continue here.
EVERYTHING WE HAVE AND ENJOY IN LIFE COMES FROM GOD.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ as I understand it.† It is up to you to validate what I have said and to investigate Godís will for your life.
The gospel from Mans perspective:
We compare ourselves to others we know and figure that we
†are better than most of them, or at least
†not as bad as the worst of them, so we must be OK.
From Godís Perspective:
All Men are sinners.† (We donít like to hear this, but it is true.)
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
†and death by sin;† and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
All men are wicked:
Psalms 14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:
†there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Psalms 53:3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether
†become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death Ö..
John 3:36 Ö..he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 3:18 Ö..but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Death means separation from God and God has prepared only one place for those who are not his.
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me,
†ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17† For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemnedÖ.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
†and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
†but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Finally, salvation is not of works but of Faith,
Ephesians 2:4-8 ∂But God, who is rich in mercy,
†for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:†
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding
†riches of his grace in his kindness toward us
†through Christ Jesus.†
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation is not complicated:
1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life;
and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Finally:† What does God require of you?
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
†and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly,
†and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
A person cannot do justice without knowing Godís word.† You cannot love mercy without knowing the person of the Lord, and you will not walk humbly with your God without acknowledging that you are a sinner.
